Recipe Card Blocks PRO v7.3.0

Recipe Card Blocks PRO 7.3.0

AI Assistant for recipe queries

Version 7.3.0 introduces an AI Assistant for recipe cards, allowing readers to ask questions about recipes directly. It also includes various improvements and fixes for better functionality.

New

  • AI Assistant tab under Recipe Cards > Settings. It connects your recipes to Yamidoo, a free AI chat that answers readers' questions about the recipe they are on: substitutions with amounts, scaling, unit conversions, timing and storage. One button installs and activates the Yamidoo plugin from WordPress.org.
  • "Ask about this recipe" button in the recipe card, just above the ingredients. It opens the chat with that recipe already in context and the question started for the reader. It is switched on automatically when Yamidoo is activated, and stays hidden on sites without it.

Improved

  • The AI Settings tab now explains that its settings control the AI Recipe Generator, and links to AI credits.

Fixed

  • Recipe card styles now load for recipes inserted with the `[wpzoom_rcb_post]` shortcode or the Elementor recipe widgets.
  • Adjustable servings now work with a serving range such as "2-3".

Mobile-friendly Recipe Index filters

This update introduces a new mobile-friendly Recipe Index with app-style filters and a Compact List layout for Recipe Roundups. Additional improvements include enhanced styling options and better handling of recipes without images.

New

  • Recipe Index — app-style filters on mobile: on phones and small tablets the filter dropdowns now collapse into a "Filters" button that opens a slide-up panel, with a badge showing how many filters are active and a "Show 24 recipes" button that updates the number of matching recipes as you pick them (you can switch back to inline dropdowns in the block settings)
  • Recipe Roundup — new "Compact List" layout, and an option to hide the recipe descriptions
  • Recipe Index — a Styles tab in the block settings to set an accent colour (used for the Load More button, active page number, course links and the mobile filter panel), the image corner radius, and the space between cards

Improved

  • Recipe Index — refreshed recipe cards on mobile: two recipes per row, cooking time shown as a badge over the image, and rounded image corners
  • Recipe Index and Recipe Roundup — recipes without an image now show a placeholder icon instead of an empty space, so all cards keep the same height and line up neatly

Fixed

  • Recipe Index — the cooking time badge could appear on its own, floating above the title, on recipes whose image was missing or had been deleted

Enhanced Recipe Index Filtering

This update introduces a refined Recipe Index with enhanced ingredient filtering options, alongside fixes for duration display and translation issues with custom labels in Polylang.

New

  • Recipe Index — new options to refine the Ingredients filter: use only ingredients from the Ingredients database, hide ingredients used in fewer than a minimum number of recipes, and exclude specific ingredients (e.g. salt, pepper, water)

Fixed

  • Recipe Index — the "1-2 hours" duration filter was also showing recipes shorter than 1 hour
  • Custom labels from plugin settings now translate correctly on sites using Polylang

Uniform aspect ratio for images

This update enhances the Recipe Index by ensuring recipe images maintain a consistent aspect ratio and optimises image loading for improved page speed. High-resolution screens will still display sharp images.

Improved

  • Recipe Index — recipe images now keep a uniform aspect ratio matching the selected image size (Landscape, Portrait, or Square), even when some images are smaller than the required size
  • Recipe Index — the recipe grid now loads smaller image files where possible, making the page faster (high-resolution screens still get sharp images via srcset)

Enhanced Recipe Index Filters

This release introduces a new Recipe Index with enhanced filtering options, allowing visitors to search and filter recipes by ingredients, courses, cuisines, and more. Additionally, the Equipment inventory has been improved for easier item selection.

New

  • Recipe Index — Ingredients filter: visitors can now filter recipes by the ingredients they use
  • Recipe Index — Search field: let visitors search recipes by title, ingredients, or summary (with a customizable placeholder text)
  • Recipe Index — all filters (courses, cuisines, difficulty, cooking time, ingredients) now support selecting multiple options at once
  • Recipe Index — option to display the number of matching recipes next to each filter option

Improved

  • Equipment inventory popup in the Recipe Card block now includes a search field and multi-select, so you can find and insert multiple equipment items at once
  • The Equipment section in the Recipe Card block now starts with an empty list instead of 3 blank items — add items manually or insert them from your inventory

New translations and fraction support

This release introduces 10 new translations, making the plugin accessible in 17 languages. Additionally, users can now enter ingredient amounts as fractions, improving usability and accuracy in recipes.

New

  • 10 new translations — Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Japanese (the plugin is now available in 17 languages)

Improved

  • Ingredient amounts can now be entered as fractions the way people naturally write them — "1/4", "1 1/2", or symbols like ¼ and 1½ — and Unit Conversion and Adjustable Servings will understand them (previously decimals like 0.25 were required)
  • Unit Conversion keeps teaspoon and tablespoon measures unchanged when converting between systems (a metric teaspoon is the same spoon), instead of converting them to ml
  • Converted amounts now snap to common cooking fractions (halves, thirds, quarters, eighths) — no more odd results like "3/7 cup" — and units already in the target system are kept as-is in mixed-unit recipes

Fixed

  • Minor bug fixes

  • "Refresh Usage Data" button on the All Recipes page to see unused recipes

Fixed

  • license key tier not detected

Recipe Card Blocks PRO 7.2.0

New

  • Import / Export Ingredients tool (Recipe Card Blocks → Export & Import) — back up your ingredient database, including affiliate links, or copy it to another site
  • Option to disable the Ingredient Database feature entirely (Settings → General → Ingredients) — turns off the Manage Ingredients screen, Ingredient Scanner, save-to-database icons, and ingredient autocomplete
  • Recipe schema can use nutrition data from a Nutrition Facts block on the same page when the recipe card has none — with an opt-out in Settings → Miscellaneous → Nutrition Facts Block

Fixed

  • Matched ingredients no longer overwrite the ingredient text in your recipes — the casing and wording you type now always stay exactly as written
  • Ingredient Scanner no longer capitalizes the first letter of saved ingredient names
Recipe Card Blocks PRO v7.1.5

Recipe Card Blocks PRO 7.1.5

New

  • SEO Score column
  • Global "Block Title" and "Servings Text" defaults for the Nutrition Facts block (Settings → Miscellaneous → Nutrition Facts Block). Lets you change "servings per container" sitewide without editing each block, and works well with multilingual plugins like WPML.
