Recipe Card Blocks PRO 7.4.4
New Convert Units tool
Version 7.4.4 introduces a new Convert Units tool that allows users to convert all recipe ingredients in bulk, along with improved conversion accuracy for common ingredients. Additional WP-CLI commands are now available for large sites.
New
- Convert Units tool (Recipe Cards > Convert Units) fills in the US/Metric conversions for all your existing recipes at once, instead of opening each recipe and clicking "Convert All Ingredients". It checks which unit system each recipe's ingredients are written in, flags recipes that need a closer look (a unit system setting that doesn't match the ingredients, mixed units, conversions already typed into the text) and shows every conversion for review before anything changes. Amounts you already converted or typed yourself are never overwritten, the recipe's copy in its post is updated too, and the whole run can be undone.
- WP-CLI commands for large sites: `wp rcb unit-conversion scan`, `preview`, `apply` and `undo`.
Improved
- "Convert All Ingredients" converts the whole recipe in one request, with the same rules as the Convert Units tool.
- Common ingredients such as flours, sugars, butter, oats, nuts, chocolate chips, cheese and spices are converted between cups and grams with a built-in table. This also fixes yeast, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, caster sugar, agave, pumpkin seeds, kosher salt, oat flour and Greek yogurt, which were converted with the wrong weight.
- Deciliters and centiliters (dl, cl) can now be converted to US measures.
- Recipes without their own Unit Conversion setting, such as recipes made before the feature existed, now follow Settings > Unit Conversion.
- The editor now says when no ingredients are converted yet and how to convert them, and the Unit Conversion settings are explained more clearly.
Fixed
- The US/Metric switcher appeared on recipes without converted amounts, where switching changed nothing. It now appears once a recipe has converted amounts.
