Whilst we are working on new themes, we don’t forget to keep up our older themes with our latest features and improvements. Today we’d like to tell you more about changes we’ve made in the 3.0 version of Magazinum theme.
Many of you asked us to make this theme responsive a lot of times, so I’m pretty sure that you already know what this feature means, and you don’t need any extra explanations.
You can see in the demo how the theme adapts to different screen resolution for specific devices. Test-drive the theme.
New Light Skin
During the last 3 years (yes, this theme was released in 2010) we’ve seen a lot of creative modifications of Magazinum theme. One of the most popular modification applied by our customers to this theme was related to the theme’s header area. The new Light Skin that we’ve added in the new version will give your theme a refreshed look, without having to change a single line of code in the theme.
Slideshow & Carousel re-written. Video API Integrated
Adding the responsive feature in this theme required us to also update the jQuery libraries used for features like the Slideshow or Carousel. Beside this we’ve also integrated the Slideshow with YouTube and Vimeo API, so you can offer a better experience to your visitors when they want to play a video directly in the slideshow. Videos will now pause if the user clicks on a different slide and in case the “auto-rotate” feature is enabled, and user starts playing a video, the slideshow will also pause, so user can watch the video until the end.
Another new feature is that now you can display more than 10 posts in the Slideshow, without breaking the layout and having all posts displayed in a long vertical list. Now you can split posts in pages in the Slideshow, and from the Theme Options simply select how many posts should be visible per page in the Slideshow.
… and many other improvements
Beside the above-mentioned features, we’ve also fixed other minor bugs, made several improvements to the theme’s appearance. Another modification was the theme width: it was widened, and now the Sidebar can easily fit advertising banners with the width of 300px.
