We’ve been creating magazine themes for a while now and got to notice how the trends are changing.
This experience plus the constant eagerness to create better themes and improve our products lead us to this neat update of our Domino Magazine. Since this is one of the favourites among magazine themes, we decided to upgrade its look, add new color styles and even new layout options.
Read below to see what’s new.
Domino Magazine 2.0 Highlights:
- New Boxed Layout
- 6 New Color Schemes
- New widget: 2 Featured Categories (side by side)
- New Styling for Featured Categories
- New Customization Options in Customizer
New Boxed Layout
Many of our customers asked us multiple times to help them to change the theme layout to a boxed one. To make things easier for everyone, we’ve introduced a new optional boxed layout to give a total different look to the theme.
The boxed layout can be easily enabled from Customizer > Theme Layout.
New Widget: 2 Featured Categories (side by side)
Even thought the existing Featured Category is powerful enough, it misses the ability to display 2 featured categories side by side in two columns.
We decided to fix this problem by introducing a new widget that helps to display 2 different categories side by side:
Better-looking Featured Category widget
Featured Category is a powerful built-in widget that can be used to built the homepage layout. In the new update we’ve improved the widget’s layout when 4 or 5 posts are displayed in it:
6 New Color Schemes
Even thought Domino Magazine includes multiple color choices in the Customizer, we’ve decided to pack the theme with 6 new pre-defined color schemes that can be easily changed from the Customizer:
Numerous Other Improvements & Fixes
Beside above-mentioned features, a lot of other important changes have been made to the theme. Here are just a few of them:
Instant Customizer Refresh – Theme Customizer now refreshes instantly, and you won’t have to wait long time when changing a color or a font until you have a preview of it.
Sidebar on Archive Pages – We’ve made several changes to the Recent Posts, and now posts are no longer displayed in 4 columns, but in a list view, and we’ve also added the sidebar on the archive pages.
The new update is available for all existing customers, and you can download it from our Members’ Area.
