Photo Proofing gives photographers a private, link-protected gallery where a client selects the photos they want — and approves the selection with one click. You get an email with the chosen filenames, ready for post-production. No client account, no third-party service.
Go to Portfolio → Photo Proofing → Add New Gallery.
Give the gallery a title (e.g. the client or shoot name).
In the Photos box click Add Photos and select the images from the Media Library (upload them first if needed).
Click Publish.
Share the secret client link
After publishing, the Client Link box shows the gallery’s private URL:
Copy Link and send it to your client — anyone with the link can view the gallery and make the selection; no login needed.
Regenerate Link invalidates the old link immediately (useful if it was shared too widely) and creates a new one.
What the client sees
A clean, distraction-free page — no site header or menus:
Clicking a photo selects it (checkbox in the corner); the zoom icon opens it larger.
A toolbar tracks progress — “2 of 4 photos selected” — next to the Approve Selection button.
Approve Selection asks for confirmation (“You will not be able to change it afterwards”) and then locks the gallery:
After approval
You receive an email — “Selection approved: {gallery}” — listing the selected filenames, sent to the gallery’s author (or the admin email).
In the gallery’s edit screen, the Client Selection box shows the approval status with timestamp, thumbnails of the chosen photos and a “Selected filenames (copy for post-production)” field ready to paste into Lightroom or your file manager.
Reset Selection clears the choices and unlocks the gallery so the client can pick again.
Managing galleries
Portfolio → Photo Proofing lists all galleries with Photos, Selected and Status (Awaiting selection / Approved) columns and a tokenized View link for a quick check.
Privacy and security
The gallery is only reachable with the secret key in the link — without it, everyone (including logged-in admins) gets a 404; use the View row action or the Client Link box.
Proofing pages are marked noindex/nofollow and excluded from the XML sitemap.
Clients see and select photos; there are no download links — delivery of final files stays in your hands.
