Videozoom — Menus & the Mobile Menu

This article refers to Videozoom

Videozoom 5.0 rebuilt navigation from the ground up: pure-CSS dropdown menus with keyboard support on desktop, and a single hamburger menu with smooth accordion submenus on mobile. There’s also a new optional Mobile Menu location for showing different navigation on phones.

Menu locations

The theme registers three menu locations:

  • Top Menu — the slim bar above the logo (About, Contact, etc.).
  • Main Menu — the primary navigation below the logo; supports multi-level dropdowns.
  • Mobile Menu (optional) — when assigned, this menu is shown instead of the Main Menu on mobile devices.

Setting up your menus

  1. Go to Appearance → Menus.
  2. Create a menu (or edit an existing one) and add your pages, categories, and custom links.
  3. Under Menu Settings → Menu location, check the location where it should appear:

Dropdowns are created by dragging menu items slightly to the right, nesting them under a parent item — any depth is supported, and they work with keyboard navigation too.

The mobile menu

On mobile devices the header shows a single hamburger button that opens an accordion menu — submenus expand in place, at any depth:

By default the accordion shows your Main Menu. If you want different navigation on phones (fewer items, or mobile-specific links), assign a menu to the Mobile Menu location — it then replaces the Main Menu on mobile.

Updating from Videozoom 4.x? Older versions showed the Top Menu inside a separate mobile menu. In 5.0 there is one mobile menu — if you relied on Top Menu items on mobile, add them to your Main Menu or assign a dedicated Mobile Menu.

Header social icons

The icons in the top bar come from the Header Social Icons widget area. Install the free Social Icons Widget by WPZOOM plugin and add its widget there — see Widgets & Widget Areas.
