This guide outlines the process of creating an Instagram Access Token using our Access Token Generator tools for Facebook and Instagram. This can be used if you have been asked to provide one to set up an Instagram Feed on a website.
Below you can see detailed steps for each method.
Our Instagram Feed plugin includes two methods to generate an API Access Token:
If your Instagram account was connected to a Facebook page, you can generate the Access Token by granting permissions using your Facebook account that manages that Page (page admin):
1. Go to facebook.com and make sure you’re logged in with the account that manages the Facebook Page that has access to a specific Instagram account.
2. Go to the Facebook API Access Token Generator here: https://www.wpzoom.com/graph-auth/
Click the Generate Access Token button.
3. Make sure to choose the right page and Instagram account for which you want to generate the Access Token:
4. Now, you will be redirected to our site. Copy the Access Token from the page and use it to manually connect the plugin on your WordPress site or send the Access Token to your web developer:
5. You can connect our plugin manually with your Access Token from the Users page, when adding a new account:
If you don’t see this option, go to Instagram Widget > Users and remove all connected Instagram accounts.
You can revoke the access given to our plugin anytime you want from the Business Integration section on our Facebook account:

The instructions are similar to the ones above, except this time you will log in directly using the Instagram account you want to connect:
1. Go to https://instagram.com/ and make sure you’re logged in with the account you want to create a feed for.
2. Go to the Instagram API Access Token Generator here: https://www.wpzoom.com/instagram-business-auth/ (this is a different tool then the one from the 1st method).
Click the Generate Access Token button.
3. When connecting an Instagram account, if it is your first time connecting to our plugin, ensure you allow all permissions asked for; else, the Access Token will not work. Then click Allow. If you have previously connected our app, click Allow.
4. Now, you will be redirected to our site. Copy the Access Token from the page and use it to manually connect the plugin on your WordPress site or send the Access Token to your web developer:
