Inspiro – How to Add a Video Background

This article refers to Inspiro Premium

The Video Background feature is a key highlight of Inspiro, allowing you to create immersive, dynamic backgrounds using self-hosted or external video sources. You can add a video background in the following areas:

  1. Homepage Slideshow
  2. Single Page Header
  3. Single Blog Post Header
  4. Portfolio Post Header
  5. Any Page or Post Section with a Page Builder

1. Homepage Slideshow

The homepage slideshow supports video backgrounds, allowing you to display a full-screen video in the slideshow area.

How to Add a Video Background to the Homepage Slideshow:

  1. Go to Slideshow → Add New in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Find the Video Settings section under the post editor.
  3. Locate the Video Background section and choose one of the following:
    – Self-Hosted Video – Upload a video file in MP4 format.
    – YouTube or Vimeo – Enter the video URL.
  4. Click Publish or Update to save changes.

💡 Tip: Use short, optimized videos (recommended under 5MB) for the best performance.

2. Single Page Header

You can set a video background for individual pages to create a visually engaging hero section.

How to Add a Video Background to a Single Page:

  1. Edit the page where you want to add a video background or create a new one.
  2. In the Video Settings panel below the editor, find the Video Background in Header section.
  3. Select your preferred video source:
    – Self-Hosted Video – Upload an MP4 file.
    – YouTube or Vimeo – Paste the video link.
  4. Click Publish or Update to save changes.

💡 Tip: Use short, optimized videos (recommended under 5MB) for the best performance.


3. Single Blog Post Header

The blog post header can also feature a video background, making your articles more engaging.

How to Add a Video Background to a Blog Post Header:

  1. Edit the blog post where you want to add a video background or create a new post.
  2. In the Video Settings panel below the editor, find the Video Background in Header section.
  3. Select your preferred video source:
    Self-Hosted Video – Upload an MP4 file.
    YouTube or Vimeo – Paste the video link.
  4. Click Publish or Update to save changes.

4. Portfolio Post Header

Just like single pages and blog posts, portfolio posts support video backgrounds in their headers.

How to Add a Video Background to a Portfolio Post Header:

  1. Edit the portfolio post where you want to add a video background or create a new one.
  2. In the Video Settings panel below the editor, find the Video Background on Single Post section.
  3. Select your preferred video source:
    Self-Hosted Video – Upload an MP4 file.
    YouTube or Vimeo – Paste the video link.
  4. Click Save to publish the changes.

5. Any Page or Post Section with a Page Builder

You can add a video background to any section using a page builder such as Elementor or the Block Editor.

1. Open the page in Edit with Elementor mode.

2. Select the section where you want to add a video background.

3. In the left panel, go to Style → Background and click on Video (camera icon) in the Background Type field.

4. Add a self-hosted MP4 video or a YouTube/Vimeo link.
Adjust the start time, loop, and playback options as needed.

5. Click Publish to save changes.

1. Edit the page or post where you want to add a video background or create a new one.

2. Click the + (Add Block) button and select Cover.

3. In the Cover block options, click Add Media and choose Open Media Library or Upload.


4. Choose a video from the Media Library or upload a video.

5. Adjust the cover block in the right sidebar of the editor in the Settings and Style tabs.


6. Click Publish to save and apply changes.
