How to Update Inspiro

This article refers to Inspiro Premium

Keeping Inspiro Premium up to date ensures compatibility with the latest WordPress version, includes bug fixes, enhances performance, and may introduce new features and improvements. Regular updates also improve security by patching vulnerabilities.

When a new theme version is available, you’ll see a yellow notification at the top of your WordPress Dashboard.

You can also check the Inspiro Changelog to see the latest updates.

Here are the steps to update Inspiro:

  1. Activate the License Key
  2. Update the Theme
  3. Common Issues & Solutions

1. Activate the License Key

To receive 1-click theme updates, your license key must be active and not expired.

Check your license status and activate it: How to Activate the License Key

2. Update the Theme

💡 Important tips before updating:

To prevent data loss and ensure a smooth update process, follow these precautions:

  • Create a Full Backup – Especially for major updates, back up your website using a plugin like UpdraftPlus or BackupBuddy. How to Backup a WordPress Site
  • Your Customizer Settings are Safe – Changes made in Widgets, Menus, Customizer (Fonts, Colors, Logo, Additional CSS, etc.) will NOT be affected by the update.
  • Backup Custom Code & Translations – If you’ve modified theme files directly, back up:
  • custom.css (if used for additional styles).
  • /languages/ folder (if you translated the theme).
  • Any other theme files you manually edited.

To make theme customizations without losing them after updates, use a Child Theme instead of modifying the main theme files: How to Create a Child Theme

Proceed with the update:

1. If a new version is available, a yellow update notification will appear in the WordPress Dashboard.

2. Click Update Now to install the latest version.

3. Alternatively, go to Appearance → Themes, find Inspiro, and click Update.

3. Common Issues & Solutions

Updating the theme returns an error

Solution:

  • Try updating the theme a few more times—this usually resolves the issue.
  • If it still fails, update the theme manually from Appearance → Themes.

The theme looks broken after the update

Solution:
This can happen after a major update if you’re using a caching plugin. Try the following:

1. Clear your browser cache or do a hard refresh:

  • Mac (Chrome): Press CMD + Shift + R
  • Windows (Chrome): Press Ctrl + Shift + R

2. If the issue persists, clear the cache from your caching plugin and any plugins that minify/combine CSS & JS files (e.g., Autoptimize, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket).
