The full-width slideshow (1200×650px) at the top of the homepage displays your Featured Posts — or, optionally, Featured Pages. This article shows the two ways to feature content and the slideshow settings.
In the Post Options box, check Feature in Homepage Slider.
Make sure the post has a Featured Image — that’s the slide background.
Update the post.
Featuring posts from the Posts list
Faster for bulk changes: the Posts screen has a Featured column — click the star to feature or un-feature a post without opening it. There’s also a Posts → Featured Posts submenu listing only the featured ones.
Slideshow settings
Go to WPZOOM → Theme Options → Homepage, section Homepage Slideshow:
Display Slideshow on Homepage? — turn the slideshow on or off.
Content Source — Featured Posts (default) or Featured Pages; with pages, the same Feature in Homepage Slider checkbox appears when editing pages, and slides link to the page. Slides are ordered by date.
Autoplay Slideshow? + Slider Autoplay Interval — automatic rotation, off by default (interval in milliseconds, default 3000).
Number of Posts/Pages in Slider — default 5.
Display Category, Display Comments Count, Display Read More Button — the elements on each slide.
Slide images and text
The slide background is the Featured Image — use images of at least 1200×650px for sharp, full-width slides.
The slide title is the post title; adjust the text shown in listings via the post’s Excerpt field.
