Academica Pro — Widgets & Widget Areas

This article refers to Academica Pro 3.0

Much of an Academica Pro site is built with widgets — the homepage content, the sidebars, and the footer are all widget areas. Manage them in Appearance → Widgets.

Widget areas

Homepage:

Homepage: Content Widgets — the content column of the homepage templates.
Homepage (Below the Slider) 1/3 / 2/3 / 3/3 Column — the three columns under the slideshow; made for the WPZOOM: Image Box widget.

Site-wide:

Sidebar: Left Column and Sidebar: Right Column — the two sidebar columns; which ones appear depends on the page template (No Left Sidebar / No Right Sidebar hide one).
Header Social Icons — the top-bar icons; add the widget from the free Social Icons Widget by WPZOOM plugin.
Footer: Column 1–4 — the footer columns.

Theme widgets

Academica Pro ships with its own widgets — find them in the widget picker:

WPZOOM: Image Box — an image with a title and link; used for the three columns below the slideshow, and works in any sidebar too.
WPZOOM: Featured Category — posts from a chosen category, for building homepage sections.
WPZOOM: Recent Posts — a compact recent-posts list.
WPZOOM: Testimonials — rotates your Testimonials.
WPZOOM: Custom Menu — display any menu in a widget area (useful for a Quick Navigation box like the demo’s).
