When you’re building a website to showcase films, documentaries, or serialized video content, you need more than a gallery with thumbnails. You need a way to organize content into shows, seasons, and episodes so visitors can browse the way they’re used to on platforms like Netflix or IMDb.

We’ve added a new starter site to Inspiro Premium that handles this: the Movies & TV Shows starter site. It comes with a dark, cinematic design and a hierarchical content system where shows contain seasons, and seasons contain episodes.
Movie-Focused Page Templates
The starter site includes eight page templates designed specifically for movie and TV show websites.
- The homepage uses full-screen video backgrounds and dark, cinematic layouts that put your content front and center.
- There are separate browsing pages for films and TV shows, each displaying content in responsive grids.
- Individual movies and shows get custom single-page templates.
- Season pages automatically list all episodes in order, and episode pages include breadcrumb navigation so visitors can easily move between shows, seasons, and individual episodes.
Everything’s built with Elementor, so you can adjust layouts and modify sections without writing code.

The New Movies & TV Shows Module
This starter site introduces a new feature in Inspiro Premium: the Movies & TV Shows Module. The module adds three custom post types (Shows, Seasons, and Episodes) that connect through relationship fields.

When you create a show, you can add multiple seasons to it. Each season can contain as many episodes as you need. The module manages these connections, so episodes display under the correct season and seasons appear under their parent show.

The module works with the free version of Advanced Custom Fields to handle these relationships. Once enabled in Theme Options, you’ll see new menu items in WordPress for managing your content.
Not building an entertainment site? The module’s labels are fully customizable. Running an online course platform? Rename them to Courses, Modules, and Lessons. Building a podcast network? Keep Shows, Seasons, and Episodes. The structure works for any content that follows a hierarchy.
Building Custom Episode Lists
You can display episodes from specific shows or seasons anywhere on your site. Want to feature the latest three episodes from a particular show on your homepage? Or create a page that lists all episodes from one season? The module adds filters that let you do this through the WordPress block editor without writing code.

Use Cases
This starter site works for:
- Film festivals building searchable movie databases
- Production agencies showcasing their video portfolio with proper categorization
- Documentary producers organizing multi-part series
- Educational platforms structuring online courses
- Podcast networks managing multiple shows and episodes
Getting Started
Existing Inspiro Premium users:
- Import the Movies & TV Shows starter site through the Demo Importer.
- The one-click import sets up the module automatically and includes sample content that demonstrates how shows, seasons, and episodes connect.
Prefer to start fresh? Enable the module manually in Theme Options and build your content structure from scratch. The documentation covers creating your first show, adding seasons, and organizing episodes.
