Every WordPress theme ships with demos. You browse the library, find the one that looks closest to what you had in mind, import it — and then spend the next few hours deleting a stock bakery’s opening hours, rewriting a fictional agency’s team bios, and hunting for photos that actually match your business.

The problem with one-size-fits-all demos
Demo importers were a genuine leap forward for WordPress. Instead of staring at an empty site, you get a finished layout to work backwards from. Inspiro has shipped them for years, and our Premium starter sites library keeps growing.
But a demo library has a hard limit: it can only contain the sites somebody thought to design in advance. If you run a mobile bike-repair service, a ceramics studio that also teaches weekend classes, or a two-person law firm specialising in maritime cases, the closest demo is never actually your business. So the import is only the beginning — the real work is replacing every last piece of content that belongs to somebody else.

How it works
1. Describe your website
Open Import Demo in your Inspiro dashboard and type a sentence or two about the site you need. Something like:
A website for a small coffee roastery in Portland that sells beans online and hosts tasting events.
Short on inspiration? View ideas gives you ready-made prompts to start from, and Enhance with AI turns a bare sentence into a richer brief — inventing a fitting business name, a location and a few services you can edit before continuing.
2. Review the plan
The AI proposes a page structure for your site — usually four to six pages, each with a short brief. You stay in control here: rename pages, remove the ones you do not need, or add your own. Nothing is created until you approve it.
3. Watch it build
Hit Generate demo and, in roughly two minutes, Inspiro designs your site’s visual identity, writes the copy, sources photography, builds every page, then sets up your navigation menu, footer and homepage. You end up on a finished website — not a blank canvas with good intentions.
What you actually get
This is where the generator differs from a text-writing assistant. It does not hand you a wall of copy to paste in yourself — it assembles a working WordPress site:
- Designed pages with a visual identity created for your business — its own typography, spacing and color palette.
- Real photography from Pexels, downloaded straight into your Media Library and chosen to match what you described.
- A navigation menu and a homepage, already assigned and ready to view.

- Matching theme settings — the accent color from your demo’s palette is applied to the theme itself, so everything lines up.
Fonts are downloaded and served from your own server rather than Google’s, so your visitors’ browsers never phone home — a small detail that matters if GDPR is on your mind.
It’s all native blocks — no lock-in
We made one decision early that shaped everything else: whatever the AI generates has to be ordinary WordPress content.
No proprietary page builder. No custom block library you would have to keep installed forever. No shortcodes that turn into gibberish the day you switch themes. Every generated page is built from the blocks WordPress already ships with — cover, columns, gallery, buttons, query loop — so you edit them in the block editor exactly like anything else you have ever published.
That also means the AI is a starting point, not a dependency. Generate a demo, then rewrite the headline, swap a photo, delete a section, move things around. It is your site from the first second.
Choose the look, or let AI decide
If you have a direction in mind, you can steer the design before generating:
- Design style — Minimal, Editorial, Big Type, Luxury, Corporate, Playful, Retro or Dark.
- Typography — Modern Sans, Geometric, Expressive, Serif Accent or Classic Serif.
- Color palette — your theme’s own palettes plus a set of brighter, modern ones.
Every one of them also offers Let AI decide, which is a perfectly good default — the design is chosen to suit the business you described. A film production studio and a neighbourhood bakery should not come out looking the same, and they don’t.
How many demos can you generate?
Generating a site involves real AI and image processing on our servers, so there are limits — but we wanted everyone to be able to try it properly, not just look at a screenshot of it.
- Inspiro Lite — the free theme on WordPress.org — includes 3 free generations. Connect an email address and you are ready to go.
- Inspiro Premium, with an active license, includes 10 generations — on top of the 50+ hand-designed starter sites you already get.
If a generation fails for any reason, it does not count against your total.

- Install the free Inspiro Starter Sites plugin — the generator lives there, and the theme offers to install it for you in one click.
- Go to Import Demo, connect your email, describe your website, and generate.

This is a Beta — tell us what you think
We are shipping the AI Demo Generator as a Beta on purpose. It already produces sites we are genuinely proud of, but the interesting part starts now: the more descriptions real people write, the better we can make the designs it produces.
So try it on something specific. Describe the oddest, most particular business you can think of, and see what comes back. If a demo turns out beautifully, we would love to see it. If something looks wrong, we want to know that even more — tell our team and it will feed straight into the next round of improvements.
Demo libraries will always have a place — sometimes you want to see exactly what you are getting before you commit. But when nothing in the library is quite you, you no longer have to settle for close enough.
