Eventina Premium Theme: Review + Giveaway (closed)
No day without any contests on WPZOOM!
After I announced the winners of the previous contest, the turn came to another contest.
This time I want to review a new Premium WordPress Theme created by my good friend Brînzan Dumitru of Themes Closet.
Dumitru started a little time ago to write a blog about WordPress Themes and recently he succeeded to launch a new Premium Theme.
His theme is called Eventina, and it is a simple Premium Theme with a magazine style.
Theme Features
Multi-Level Menu
The main menu looks great both on sites with a few categories and on sites with tens (or even hundreds) of categories. On page load, it does not load ALL categories as most drop-down menus do, it loads only the required categories.

Featured Posts (3) in the Header
3 Most recent featured posts appear in the header, for maximum exposure and attention of your visitors!

13 Color Palettes

Other Features
- Featured Content (3 articles) in the header of the page. Maximum exposure to your most important articles;
- Main menu is custom-built. Check this for an example of hierarchy.
- Auto-resizing and cropping for thumbnails (TimThumb);
- jQuery Tabbed Sidebar: Recent Comments, Recent Articles, Tags, Subscribe Block (you can add anything to it)
- Gravatars Support (comments section)
- Comments, Trackbacks and Pings are separated with jQuery Tabs
- Comments by Admin account are highlighted in the comments section of an article
- Nice footer structure
- Compatible with all major browsers: IE 6&7, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Google Chrome;

Let the contest begin!
I eould change the colored bar at the bottom to match the theme’s color (pull one of the colors from the top). The reddish/purple doesn’t fit the subdued blues and whites. I would also make the popular posts the default tab in the sidebar.
Nothing, it’s perfect as it is. :)
Probably make a slider from the picture from the first post.
Fantastic theme.Wow,I am speechlees.
Firstly theme looks very professional, simple and elegant. I think Dumitru should divide an area for ads.
Most of my clients have business brand/logos built into their sites/blogs and if I were to customize this theme it would be to change the header area to accommodate a header image.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Cool Theme and nice giveaway.
In my opinion, I would include the search on the right side of the 3 blue featured posts (same place it is, maybe just show better with the 3 blue lines!). The Browse categories would be more down, not on top of the blue lines.
I would give it one of those cool jQuery “top” or “Featured posts” windows.
You know, how it shuffles through 4 or 5 stories and has a picture with a caption or an excerpt?
I dunno, I find that really attractive in themes nowadays.
maybe some more content sections :) but I like it and as is.
I’d do something to dress up the post date — place it where the current comment count bubble is; or maybe flush right like you do with this theme. I’d move the comment count bubble to the bottom of the post instead of the top.
I might give more gradience to the headline bars. The three colors look too similar to me and don’t really differentiate the headlines.
*Thanks* for the giveaway!
I think the background is really boring. Change the bg will make it more attractive. Totally, I think the theme is beautiful.
My previus comment has been sent, please remove this.
Sorry. Browser problem! :)
Ok first l would remove recent articles from header, and display 4 or 5 latest articles with slide ( Jquery etc ) also add twitter, flickr plugins to make it more fun .
very nice theme!
I’d darken the background to an off-white. The footer could use some work, and the fonts should be changed (Georgia?)
Wonderful layout ;) I like it the color palettes
The top right section with the categories is taking alot of valuable space.
Maybe the theme can list the categories in 2 columns.
Mike
Good looking theme.
Nice theme! Maybe I will buy one
Thank you all for your suggestions, I will consider them when updating Eventina and during the development of my future themes :)
