Theme Overview

Homepage Slideshow

We are using Custom Post Types for the slideshow on the homepage. You can add “slides” by creating new posts of this custom type.
Below you can see how the video slide used in our Live Demo looks like:

Widgets

To add widgets in the Sidebar of this theme, you’d need to access Appearance -> Widgets menu, and drag widgets to your Sidebar to activate them.
This theme includes 2 Custom Widgets which are ready to use:

  • WPZOOM: Ads Widget
  • WPZOOM: Flickr Gallery

Use Custom Shortcodes

All shortcodes work by wrapping text/code into square brackets, like this for example:

[half] Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.[/half]
[half_last] Ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. [/half_last]

The list of available shortcodes is as follows (you can see the live result for each here: EduPress Shortcodes

  1. [half]…[/half] and should be paired with [half_last]… [/half_last] like shown above
  2. [third]…[/third] [third]…[/third] [third_last]…[/third_last]
  3. [checklist] <ul><li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> </ul> [/checklist]
  4. [deletelist] <ul><li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> </ul> [/deletelist]
  5. [arrowlist] <ul><li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> </ul> [/arrowlist]
  6. [highlight] some text in a paragraph [/highlight]
  7. [notice] Some paragraph of text goes here [/notice]
  8. [warning] Some paragraph of text goes here [/warning]
  9. [update] Some paragraph of text goes here [/update]

Change Background Image/Color

  1. Go to Appearance -> Background menu.
  2. You have two options: to upload an image you want to be used as background
  3. or select a solid color using a color picker

If you opted for a color as background, then you’ll need to edit following line from “style.css” file of the theme:
body {font-family:Georgia,serif; font-size: 62.5%; color: #2f3133; text-align:center; background: #fff url(images/backs/16.gif) repeat top left; }
Delete this part:
background: #fff url(images/backs/16.gif) repeat top left; }

Modify Logo image

  • You can find logo.psd (Photoshop layered file) of the logo in the /images/ folder of your theme.
  • You’ll need to open logo.psd with Adobe Photoshop, and edit the text using Text (press T) tool.
  • Save your file as logo.png and upload it to your site via FTP, by overwriting the default logo.png
